Leonardo da Vinci was one of the greatest draftsmen that ever lived. His intimate studies of cats show his understanding and love for these creatures who are so part of our lives. A cat curled up and sleeping in one of his drawings has been recreated here in a charming and wearable form. The signature on the back of the silver necklace's pendant acknowledges Leonardo's extraordinary technique of writing in mirror form - from right to left with the words spelled backwards. His reasons for writing like this are still not fully understood today, although he was left-handed. This silver necklace will appeal to any student of Leonardo's work, and certainly to any cat lover.
Sterling silver will retain its luster for years and frequent wearing of your jewelry will help prevent tarnishing. We recommend polishing your sterling silver jewelry with a dry silver polishing cloth available at most grocery or hardware stores. We do not recommend polishing with silver polish as this may remove the antiquing. When you are not wearing your jewelry, storing your silver in the jewelry bag in which it came will help prevent tarnishing.
