How should I care for my sterling silver jewelry?
We recommend polishing your sterling silver jewelry with a dry silver polishing cloth available at most grocery or hardware stores. Storing your silver in the jewelry bag in which it came will help prevent tarnishing.
What is antiquing?
Most of our jewelry is "antiqued" with a patina during manufacturing to enhance the legibility of the inscription. The piece of jewelry is submerged in liver of sulfur to create the darkened color, and then polished so that the antiquing remains only within the inscription. We incorporate this process to replicate original antique jewelry, which naturally forms this darkened color over the centuries.
Will sterling silver jewelry tarnish?
Sterling silver will retain its luster for years and frequent wearing of your jewelry will help prevent tarnishing. It will tarnish when it is exposed to certain chemicals found in makeup and perfume, salt air and sulfur. We do not recommend polishing with silver polish as this may remove the antiquing.
How do you ship within the United States?
We ship via UPS Ground or USPS. Shipping is calculated at checkout based on your order total, weight of the package and destination. We also offer UPS 2nd-Day Express shipping. Express shipping is for a fee, and is calculated at checkout.
Do you ship to Canada?
Yes, we ship USPS Priority Mail with a tracking number. The rate is calculated at checkout, however, there is no insurance so shipping is at the customer's risk. UPS Standard and UPS Next Day Air Saver are also available upon request. Both UPS shipping methods are fully insured and both provide a tracking number. Please note, shipments to Canada may incur customs duties, taxes and/or brokerage fees which are the sole responsibility of the customer. Do you ship outside of the USA and Canada?
We ship to Mexico, the UK, Australia and the European Union countries. To place an international order, please email us or call +1-212-995-9300 x 201. We will need your ship to address, your credit card number and expiration date and a description of the jewelry you wish to purchase. At this time, only international orders from Canada can be placed online. Orders to Mexico, the UK, Australia and the European Union can be shipped First-Class Mail or Priority Mail. Estimated delivery time is 6-10 business days. International orders may incur additional duties, taxes, and/or brokerage fees for which the customer is responsible.
Do you ship to PO Boxes?
Unfortunately, we cannot ship to PO Boxes.
Are your shipments insured?
All orders are insured with both with USPS and UPS. Individual orders can only be insured up to $2,500. A separate order would be created in the event it exceeds $2,500.
When will my order be shipped?
Orders will be shipped within 3 business days. If we are out of stock on a particular item, we will contact you the next business day to give you an estimated ship date and an option to cancel your order and refund your credit card for the full amount.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Visa, MasterCard, and American Express are all accepted forms of payment.
Does LaurelElliott.com charge sales tax?
Items shipped to states outside of New York are not charged sales tax. We are required by law to charge state and local taxes for orders shipped within New York State.
Are items returnable?
Returns for sterling silver are accepted within 14 days with proof of purchase from www.laurelelliott.com. Gold and/or custom products are not returnable or refundable. The items must be unworn and in the condition in which they were shipped, including jewelry packaging. Please email us or call 212-995-9300 x 201 to receive a return authorization number and return shipping address. Custom orders are not returnable. If your item was purchased through another retailer, website or catalog, please contact that retailer directly for return policies.
How do I place an order for 14K gold?

What is a special order?
Special orders are Sterling Silver rings in half sizes.
Orders for rings in half sizes must be placed with us directly by telephone or email. Payment is due in full before shipping. The return policy is within two weeks of receipt of shipment.
What is a custom order?
All of our jewelry is available in 14k gold as a custom order as a custom order.
Custom orders require a 50% deposit. Payment is due in full before shipment and custom orders are not eligible for returns or exchanges. Please email us or call 212-995-9300 x 201 for more information regarding pricing and delivery.
How do I find my ring size?
It is important to determine your ring size accurately before placing an order, as many of our rings cannot be resized. If you are uncertain of your size, have a jeweler measure your finger or take a ring you know is comfortable to the jeweler to have its size measured. Wider rings should be ordered a ½ size larger than normal. A chart equating ring measurements to US ring sizes, as well as a downloadable paper sizing gauge, is available here.
I just received my ring purchase, but it doesn’t fit. Can I get my ring sized by a jeweler?
We do not recommend resizing rings with inscriptions as it may damage the inscription. If you purchased your ring online and it is unworn, we will be happy to exchange it for another available size within two weeks of receipt.
Available ring sizes?
Our rings are sized in US whole sizes and can be ordered on the website using the shopping cart.
Can I order sterling silver rings in half sizes?
Rings can be ordered in half sizes by telephone or email but not through the website. These rings are subject to a 20% re-stocking charge should they be returned.
Why are inscriptions misspelled?
Mediaeval spelling and grammar were inconsistent. These charming inconsistencies are faithfully reproduced on the historic jewelry in the collection.
Do you offer gift wrapping?
Each of our pieces comes with a velvet jewelry bag and a story card about the jewelry. Unfortunately, we do not offer additional gift wrapping.
Can I include a personalized gift message with my purchase?
Yes! You can add a gift message on the “Shopping Cart” page under “Special Instructions or Personalized Gift Message”.
