French Only You Sterling Silver Poesy Ring

This ring is a faithful recreation of the handmade original, now in the Museum of London and dating to the early 15th century. It is probably English, although engraved in French. English poesy jewelry is often engraved in French as French remained the language of the English court and nobility until well into the 1400s. The words are interspersed with sprigs of flowers making a charming pattern that enhances the wonderful sentiment of love. A beautiful European style silver ring for weddings or special occasions.

Sterling silver will retain its luster for years and frequent wearing of your jewelry will help prevent tarnishing. We recommend polishing your sterling silver jewelry with a dry silver polishing cloth available at most grocery or hardware stores. We do not recommend polishing with silver polish as this may remove the antiquing. When you are not wearing your jewelry, storing your silver in the jewelry bag in which it came will help prevent tarnishing.

poesy
Poesy rings are rings engraved with a brief poem or phrase of love. Found as early as Greek and Roman times, they continued to be popular through the intervening centuries and are still chosen today as a band of love to represent the bond of love. Regardless of the century, language or culture, the desire to affirm our feelings for one another in a permanent way is universal. The Poesy collection, a celebration of love, has many poesys from which to choose and all are as meaningful today as when they first appeared:  You and No Other, All I Refuse and Thee I Chuse, Yours Onli, I Am My Beloved's... you choose. Great gifts for any occasion, wedding or Valentine's Day.
