French: No One But You Sterling Silver Ring
Inscribed in French: Autre ne veuil, meaning 'no one but you'.
This ring is a faithful adaptation of a 15th century narrow gold poesy ring, now in the collection of the Victoria & Albert Museum in London. It is engraved in period French in a blackletter Gothic script, typical of the period and decorated with sprays of flowers. Norman French remained the language of the English nobility until the late medieval period, and the ring itself was probably made in England although the poesy inscription is in French. The appealing sentiment speaks to us today across many centuries. An engraved sterling silver ring beautiful for weddings or as a gift for her.
Sterling silver will retain its luster for years and frequent wearing of your jewelry will help prevent tarnishing. We recommend polishing your sterling silver jewelry with a dry silver polishing cloth available at most grocery or hardware stores. We do not recommend polishing with silver polish as this may remove the antiquing. When you are not wearing your jewelry, storing your silver in the jewelry bag in which it came will help prevent tarnishing.
