French: My One Desire Sterling Silver Ring
Engraved in period French: Une dezir, which translates as 'one desire'.
This ring is a replica of a handmade ring in the Museum of London and dates to the middle of the 15th century. It is probably English, although engraved in French which was the language of the English court until well into the mid-1400s. The words are interspersed with three wheat sheaves - the symbol of plenty, and three leaf fronds. It was originally enameled but is now antiqued so that it can be worn on a daily basis. The passionate phrase of love engraved on the ring is a tribute to the strength of love. A beautiful gold wedding ring or silver wedding ring.
Sterling silver will retain its luster for years and frequent wearing of your jewelry will help prevent tarnishing. We recommend polishing your sterling silver jewelry with a dry silver polishing cloth available at most grocery or hardware stores. We do not recommend polishing with silver polish as this may remove the antiquing. When you are not wearing your jewelry, storing your silver in the jewelry bag in which it came will help prevent tarnishing.
